With marijuana decriminalization only months away, Ward 7 Councilmember Yvette Alexander stands as the sole voice against reefer madness. Alexander was the only councilmember fighting the pot bill, treating her pro-decrim colleagues like stoned college kids on the dais and waving a bag of parsley
to illustrate the size of an ounce of the drug. And she’s going after the stuff that’s already legal, too, pushing bills that would restrict liquor store ads, smoking in cars with kids, and the places where self-described vapers can smoke their e-cigarettes. For Alexander, if for no one else, it’s hip to be square.
