Plenty of bridges in Northwest offer impressive views of Rock Creek Park from above. But the traffic on Taft Bridge over Connecticut Avenue in Kalorama makes it too chaotic to pause and appreciate the view, while the Klingle Valley Bridge’s views are ruined when ginko start to bloom. Duke Ellington Bridge, with its lessened traffic flow, provides the perfect vantage point to consider the majesty of the park in any season. And because its sidewalks are wider than most, joggers, cyclists, and those of us journeying to Adams Morgan from that improperly labeled Metro station can pass over the park at whatever speed we choose.
