Ever seen a vegan pig out? At the Takoma Metro stop, a little competition is good for the meat-free crowd. The Capitol Heights vegan soul food joint Everlasting Life opened a new location in the old Cedar Crossing space in late February with vegan mac and Southern-fried “chick-un.” It joins two already established eateries: the Peruvian cafe My Little Bistro, which offers vegan sandwiches and sides plus Meatless Monday discounts, and the newly expanded Soupergirl cafe, still spooning out a rotating selection of three veggie and certified-Kosher soups. Soon to arrive right around the corner: the all-vegan Sweet Life Bakery, from the Everlasting Life owners.
