Keeping up with Washington’s ever-growing list of locally produced beers is tough, but there’s a solution for one-stop sipping: Meridian Pint. Environmental- and community-minded beer director Sam Fitz strives to reserve 16 of the Columbia Heights watering hole’s 24 rotating drafts for nearby breweries. In fact, last July’s Drink Local week featured over 100 different area creations, some in casks with foraged ingredients like wild ginseng and peppermint. Meridian Pint “cellarman” Tim Prendergast—good neighbor that he is—even makes (brew) house calls.
