Rock Salt and Cilantro Naan at Masala Art
The word rock salt instills fear: piles of snow, inadequate removal, loss of heat, winter terror. But not at Masala Art. Instead of melting snow, this rock salt perks up a lightly blistered, doughy naan. Tiny flecks of cilantro provide a bright balance against the mighty, textured mineral. The only other flavoring is a touch of butter, as with most other dishes found at this Tenleytown restaurant. You’ll want to eat this straight from the basket instead of smothering it with the ultra smoky dal makhani, the creamy and fiery baingan mirch ka salan (eggplant chunks), or palak paneer, always a crowd pleaser.
