People think of 2Amys as a good place for pizza and antipasti, wine, and letting their children wander aimlessly. But the pizzeria doesn’t come up much in beer conversations. It should. Chef Peter Pastan’s operation was doing Italian beer on draft long before it was cool, bringing in experimental kegs like Piccolo Birrificio Chiostro, brewed with absinthe-tinged herbs, and Belgian-style spiced ales like Baladin Elixir. Italian suds can get pricy, but 2Amys also keeps six other taps flowing, with standbys such as Dale’s Pale Ale, Founders Breakfast Stout, and a host of Bell’s beers. On top of all that, 2Amys was an early adopter of selling half-sized glasses, which lets you avoid hangovers while sampling more of the beer menu.
